My head and my heart are here

I got excited the other day when I saw a bird with a deep iridescent green head in the yard of my in-law's Northern Michigan summer cottage. I quickly pulled out my phone to ID and to send a picture to my ornithologist brother. I was sure I had seen something unusual and unprecedented.

A quick search yielded the answer: a Common Grackle. And as I took in more of the yard I saw that the yard was full of them.

I have been meditating every morning on this same porch and noticing the same thing about my thoughts, my feelings, my issues…they arise and feel so unique, so worthy of my attention. “I need to tell someone about this thought/feeling/issue…quick!” It's so exciting — and then…breathe…actually not so interesting after all.

I find it relaxing that my thoughts and feelings aren't so special. When I can sit and connect to what's underneath them, I feel more connected to the Field and less isolated. But I have to surrender this hope of being unique and extraordinary too. It's all so humbling!

And on to business…

What I really wanted to say in this newsletter: I'm excited about this new class I'm launching in the fall with The Pandemonium Studio. It's all about finding creative flow, release, courage, heart, connection — all of that on Thursday evenings in a studio with a bunch of other people looking to do the same thing. It's hybrid of yoga and qigong (auto correct tried putting in 'hayride' instead of hybrid which I love) and also my own Annie Somatics (that's not a brand, that's just all I can think of). Bring your Grackles and let's get things open and moving — all are welcome, of course.

You can drop by or sign up for all 12 classes :). Sign up here.

Love On ,

Annie
